The Stanley brand has begun to take over the water bottle industry. In 2023, the company reported an impressive $750 million revenue.  

The trend started with a Tiktoker named Danielle posting a video of her Stanley surviving a car fire. Danielle’s post brought so much attention to the Stanley company that she received a new car. The tumbler’s survival influenced people to buy a Stanley tumbler, the company’s most popular item. They also carry insulated bottles, canteens, and mugs. 

One of the unique features of the brand is size. Stanleys come in 14, 20, 30, 40, and 64 ounce sizes. Another popular quality is the product warranty. Their website states, “We will repair or replace your product, in our sole discretion, at our expense, with a comparable product currently being manufactured by us.”

Fort Lauderdale High School (FLHS) students are hopping on this trend. Many students returned from the winter break with a Stanley tumbler. 

Some FLHS students love their Stanleys so much that they have more than one.

Vivianna Brown (10) has four Stanleys, which she rotates. “They are cute and keep my drink cold,” she said. “My favorite is the pink one.”

Another student, Mia Hochhauser (11), explained her Stanley tumbler encourages her to drink more water. “It’s good if you want to drink a lot of water.” Mia continued, “I drink so much more than I used to, and with the straw it’s motivating.” 

Other students tend to disagree with the stanley trend, “I find the Stanleys to be impractical,” said Siena Zimmerman (12). “If I can’t put it in my bag and I have to carry it around, I don’t want it at all.”

Another flaw students see with this brand is not having a leak proof lid. 

Alyssa Pearlman (11) says, “I’ve seen so many girls spill their Stanley in class, and it’s just annoying to have to carry it everywhere and for that price I can get a better, cheaper one.” 

Whether or not everyone is a fan of the Stanley trend, it has taken over FLHS.
