Community in the classroom student, Elijah Newland (9), participates in a painting exercise on a field trip to Wynwood Walls. “Honestly, it was cool.  There was creative art.  My favorite was the astronaut art, outside The Basement Boys Club,” said Newland. “The whole experience was creativity-inducing.  If I was an artist, I would want to continue to draw after that.  I didn’t even think people could use spray paint in ways that they did.”

English and Community in the Classroom teacher, Lisa Quinn commented, “Going down to Wynwood was a few things for us… a much-needed mental health day to build camaraderie. It was to show my kids that amazing things are only a 30-minute drive from where we live and go to school.”
