FLHS’ English Department members celebrate Homecoming Spirit Week 2023 dressed as the 1920s, inspired by The Great Gatsby on Tuesday’s Squad Day
“The ELA department collaboratively decided on the Roaring Twenties, such a fun era, in honor of The Great Gatsby and how it aligns with our curriculum,” said Heidi Knopp. “The costumes and accessories are fun, and it created a sense of camaraderie.”

“Of the three of us, it’s our favorite band. We listen to them all the time and it was super easy to make a costume,” said Attah.

“It was fun to dress as cowgirls during Spirit Week and show off our dancing skills during lunch,” said Hochhäuser.

Lamar says she got the idea from TikTok. “I’m in love with all his music and thought that the costume would be pretty easy to recreate,” she commented.
