Hello, and welcome back to another edition of This Week in Sports. We are just about halfway through the first quarter, and thus a lot of action will occur in the coming weeks as fall sports heat up! Enjoy the latest sports update provided by The Navigator!

CROSS COUNTRY:

The cross country team had their weekly meet this Tuesday with good all-around performances from all of our Flying L’s! The Flying L girls competed in the 3.1 mile course at Quiet Waters Park among 70 other runners with the following finishes: Carleigh Tripp (11) 5th place, Leyla Cruz (9) 10th, and Keira Fahy (9) 14th .

The girls varsity volleyball team had an outstanding week last week, going 2-0! They had dominating and convincing wins over Nova High School and Deerfield Beach High School. Their record now improves to a solid 8-5 as they hold a 2-0 record in District competition. They approach the second half of their season with authority and eagerness to finish the campaign out strong!

GIRLS JV VOLLEYBALL:

On the other hand, JV varsity wasn’t too shabby either as they split their games played 1-1, having a hard-fought win against Nova while losing to Deerfield the next day. Their record is now 3-8 as they have yet to play in district competition. We wish them all the luck as they continue their campaign. Go Flying L’s!
