Ms. Cammy Wolfe was recently awarded the Non-Instructional Employee of the Year for the 2022-2023 school year. She has been at Fort Lauderdale High School for ten years, making an impact on every student who visits her office. As the school’s Broward Advisors for Continuing Education (BRACE) Advisor, she supports juniors and seniors with college applications, financial aid forms, and college pathways.
To receive this award, fellow teachers and staff members took part in voting for the colleagues they believed best supported the FLHS students and school.
“The culture at FLHS is to go above and beyond,” said Wolfe. “I am grateful that my peers recognize my sincere efforts to help our students with probably the biggest decision they have made so far, which is what to do after high school.”
To advance her reputation as the best Non-Instructional Employee, Ms. Wolfe works to provide undivided, specialized attention to her students.
“I try to be mindful of their individual circumstances as well as their hopes and dreams,” she said. “Each year my greatest happiness comes from seeing students move on to exciting futures.”
Wolfe finds it essential to keep in mind that every student’s situation is different; allowing herself to form this mindset makes her a better BRACE Advisor.
FLHS Principal, Erin Brown, said, “Mrs. Wolfe is such a valuable member to our staff, students, and school. She works very hard each day to ensure our students have the tools they need to be successful after graduation.”
