Nicole Miller: Leading Her Way Through FLHS

Nicole Mary Miller is a senior at Fort Lauderdale High School enrolled in the Pre-Law and Public Affairs Magnet Program, a prodigy dancer, and a future psychologist.

Nicole has been dancing for 14 years, almost her entire life.

“I can find other ways to express myself without words and I can inspire others to be happy,” she said about her passion for dance.

Nicole, after being part of the studio Dance Explosion for five years, decided to change to a new studio, Dancers Training Spot.

“There was a lot of drama and it was a hard environment to fit in,” she said while expressing the reason behind her decision.

This change ended up bringing her better results, while winning first place in category on multiple different occasions, and even getting a couple scholarships for different crusades.

She has been part of the Blue Royals Dance team at FLHS since sophomore year, and in her final year of high school has become one of the official captains.

“I’m working on the pep rally dances,” said Nicole. “We are also trying to get the dance team to at least three competitions this year.”

Dance team advisor and teacher, Ms. Christa Parisi praised Nicole and her dedication to the program.

“It has been a wonderful experience working with Nicole over the past three years. I have seen her turning into an amazing leader, teacher, and choreographer,” said Parisi. “She is always very enthusiastic, she loves what she does, and I am going to miss her next year when she graduates.”

Nicole, in addition to being part of the dance team, is the president of the Environmental Club. Her role includes organizing the members of the club while promoting a cleaner environment.

“I love helping the school become a better place with the recycling and work that we do during the environmental club,” expressed Nicole.

Nicole’s leadership skills will take her far when she leaves FLHS.
